Catarrh inflammation of any mucous membrane especially of the ear, noses and throat, usually associated with the cold symptoms. This can be found in patients, with sinus infection, tonsils and adenoids, usually caused by virus infections of the upper respiratory system, some times cause snoring. Some people who snore have obstructive sleep apnea syndrome. The word catarrh usually refers to chronic irritation of the nasal passages with discharge of secretions. Catarrh may be chronic, caused by dust, fumes or bacterial invasion.
