Consult your specialist and try:
- Don't sleep on your back position. - When you sleep on your back, the uvula and tongue fall towards the back wall of the throat and air passage narrows. When breathing during sleep the soft parts within the middle of the throat begin to vibrate, creating the typical snoring sound. Some snorers have sewn tennis balls on the back of their pajama tops, this keeps them from comfortably rolling onto their backs and taking the normal snoring position.
- Normalize your weight. - Losing weight can greatly reduce or even end snoring and possibly Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA).
- Avoid alcohol and sleeping pills especially in the evening. - These depress the central nervous system and increase snoring.
- Relieve nasal congestion. - Reducing or eliminating snoring.
